About Dr. Jennifer Reid
Dr. Jennifer Reid is an NHS trained Clinical Psychologist; with type 1 diabetes, who 'fell in' to working within the private sector due to health problems.
Newly qualified, she knew she wasn’t resilient enough to do the job she was trained for, so she had to get creative about how she could earn a living whilst having the freedom to work in a way that suited her.
She set up a simple website at www.PositiveDiabetes.com and began to write articles on the emotional impact of managing diabetes. Overwhelmed by the response from readers from all over the world, she developed a range of therapy based e-books and audio programmes, which she now delivers online to people with diabetes from more than 30 countries throughout the world.
Within two short years, she had created a private practice in which she was earning almost double the amount she would as a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist in the NHS, whilst working from home and only the hours that suited her.
Frustrated at seeing how burned out and overworked her peers were, and being continually asked, ‘How did you do that?!’, she was inspired to teach other professionals to do the same in their own particular niche.
Here at ‘Positive Private Practice,’ she now offers a range of workshops, coaching, and home study programmes to helping, health and wellness professionals, whether you want to simply ‘dip a toe’ into private work, leave your current employment and become self-employed, or add passive revenue streams to your already successful working life.
Jennifer’s passion is to inspire you to realise that there are a multitude of ways to serve many more clients, and that creating a flexible working life, whilst earning more income is totally within your reach when equipped with the right information.
Jennifer is also enthused by the mindset of entrepreneurs and other ‘successful’ people (in whatever way success is defined) and this passion brings a unique slant to her teachings — believing that success in private practice is as much about mindset as it is about your qualifications.
